All Star FUNdamentals is the first stop for kids who are interested in All Star cheer teams to start developing a foundation for their skills. The focus is to welcome new athletes to All Star and making sure they have fun, feel safe, and make friends! This program was developed by the USASF and is a fun, low-pressure, non-competitive, technique centered progressional path for first-time cheer athletes to learn about All Star. This will prepare them to transition to our Novice, Prep, or Elite teams if they choose, and as they are ready.
FUNdamentals teams for 2026-2027 are open to girls and boys with birth years 2014-2023 (must be at least 3 years old) and are divided primarily by age, but also skill level and previous experience where necessary. During practices, they will work on specific skills in the following areas from the All Star FUNdamentals curriculum: motions/dance, jumps, stunting, tumbling, transitions/formations, and conditioning. They will learn how to put all of those skills to counts and will learn an entire routine to perform at the end of the term.
These teams are offered 3 times a year - Summer, Fall, & Spring. Athletes will sign up to attend evaluations where they can experience the skills they will be working on, and it also gives our staff an opportunity to assess their skill level. They will then be placed onto the team best suited for their age and skill level.
After the initial evaluation week, there will then be 11 additional weeks, plus a showcase day where they perform their routine for family and friends. When ready, they can transition to our Novice, Prep, or Elite teams, or to a Cheer Tumbling or All Star Cheer 101 class if they are not interested or ready for a higher commitment team.
COSTS:
Evaluation Day $25 (pre-register & pay in portal)
Practices & Showcase $290 (charged in two installments of $145)
*Athletes who need the required T-shirt will also have the $20 charge for the t-shirt added to the first installment. Those who have the t-shirt from a previous term will not be charged.
ATTIRE:
Semi-fitted to fitted active wear (t-shirt/tank/sports bra with shorts or leggings). They are welcome to wear their LCC t-shirt to class as well, but it is not required. All athletes must have CLEAN white cheer shoes that aren't worn outside. NO bare feet or street shoes! We recommend ordering through omnicheer.com or Amazon for inexpensive cheer shoes.
EVALUATIONS:
All athletes interested in being placed on one of our All Star FUNdamentals teams must attend Evaluations. You can enroll in the portal typically about 2 months prior. Payment of $25 for the evaluation is due at time of enrollment. After the first week is complete, we will divide up the athletes based on age, as well as skill level and experience level where necessary. You will be notified via email by Friday as to which team they are on and what day and time their practices will be moving forward. We cannot take requests for certain practice days. Your first payment installment will then be charged to your account on file that next week, and your athlete's t-shirt will be ordered to arrive prior to their showcase performance. If we have their size in stock, they will receive it right away.
