All Star Novice is our non-rank performance team option for athletes with little to no previous experience. It will expose the athletes to the competition atmosphere, without having to worry about competing against other teams. They will perform their 1:30 routine at events where they are scored on the execution of skills only, with no difficulty requirements. The team is evaluated on a rating system of Outstanding, Excellent, or Superior based on their score, rather than a placement ranking.
Novice runs on a half season (5 1/2 months) with once weekly practices. Interested athletes will attend Evaluations in September and begin team practices in October. Novice teams attend 3 competitions from January-March, as well as 2 in-house/local showcase performances.
For the 2026-2027 season, we offer All Star Novice teams for ages 4-15 (birth years 2011-2022). Athletes are divided onto teams based on their birth year in the
age groups of Tiny, Mini, Youth, or Junior (some age groups may be combined or multiple teams in the same age group).
